Surroundings

Walkers and ramblers will enjoy the Grande Randonnée footpath GR41 passing by st cado.

Go west and you will reach the Pont Lorois, the only bridge crossing the Ria d’Etel. From there you have an outstanding point of view and you can observe the strong current at this very narrow point of the Ria d’Etel.

Go Est to the Pointe du Perche and you will have another beautiful point of view on this quieter side of the Ria d’Etel with coloured little boats morred around facing small islands. Then the path bring you in the countryside towards the megaliths sites of Erdeven, and Carnac further away

An exceptionally dense collection of megalithic sites all around :many Dolmens scattered in St Cado and Belz, the Kerzerho alignment in Erdeven and the world famous Carnac alignment and tumulus de Gavrinis decorated with carved symbols and patterns and set on an island of the Morbihan Gulf

Many paths are suitable with bicycles, another way to reach the ocean sandy beaches in Erdeven and Plouhinec with several blue-flag awarded beaches.

The coastal footpath starting in Port Niscop gives access to some superb sceneries, and good spots for photographers and birdwatchers.

The Etel bar, a sandbank which moves depending upon the tide at the mouth of the Ria d’Etel.

Etel harbour, the tunafish museum telling the history of Etel.

Sandy beaches of Plouhinec and Erdeven (Kerhilio beach, 4 miles of sand)

Auray adn the picturesque old harbour of St Goustan with restaurants and cafés.

The old town of vannes with its wooden framed buildings

The Morbihan gulf. L’ile aux moines l’ile d’Arz.

Belle ile en mer, Houat Hoedic and Groix islands, worth a day trip.

Quiberon peninsula and the cote sauvage drive.

Port Louis, walled town and the citadelle hosting the Compagnie des Indes museum.

Lorient, the Festival Interceltique, cité de la voile Eric Tabarly and the world war II submarine base.

Morbihan inland : Rochefort en terre, Josselin and its castle, Hennebont, Le Faouet (route des peintres).
